Moving is a hassle and it can be even harder when you are moving big pieces of furniture that you have bought over the years. A Jacuzzi is a one of the biggest objects that people will ever move to their new Orlando home. When moving something this big you have to take precautions and make sure that you have everything you need beforehand. Moving something of this size can be dangerous so make sure to have to correct tools to help you in this process.
Here is a short checklist of everything that you will need.
- Appliance dolly
- Tow Straps
- Screwdriver
- 2 four-wheeled dollies
- 4×4 lumber
- Plenty of People to help
Step 1 Unplug Everything
Unplug the Jacuzzi entirely, make sure that you disconnect any gas lines or electrical hookups. Wrap up the cords so nothing and dangling when you are moving. You don’t want anything to get caught. It might damage the unit or cause someone to trip and fall. You will want to have drained the water a day or two in advanced so the tub itself is completely dry and no dripping anything.
Step 2 Remove The Cover
If your hot tub has a cover you will want to unscrew it with the screwdriver and set it off to the side. You don’t want that getting in the way when you are moving. Put any screws you take off in a plastic bad and seal it tight. You will want to keep these in a safe place until you have to reattach the cover.
Step 3 Putting The Jacuzzi On Its Side.
You will want to be sure that you have given yourself enough because you will be lifting from either side. Get those 4×4 lumber planks ready as well. You will want to lift one side and place a 4×4 underneath it. Repeat for the other side. Make sure that the Jacuzzi is raised at least 3 inches off of the ground when it is resting on the wood planks.
Step 4 Put It On The Dolly
Make sure that you have everyone you can (at least 4 people) ready to lift.
Carefully lift one side of the Jacuzzi and place a dolly underneath. Repeat this for the other side. Make sure to use the tow straps to secure your Jacuzzi and carefully move it to the truck.
Step 5 Reverse It
When you get to your destination make sure to follow the steps in reverse order so you can enjoy your Jacuzzi at your new home.
